AXERRA NETWORKS ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF GIL BIRAN AS PRESIDENT OF AXERRA; AMIR HOCHBAUM AS COO

Boston, MA – January 22, 2007 – Axerra Networks, “The Pseudo-Wire Company®” and leading provider of circuit emulation and service emulation solutions, announced today the appointment of Gil Biran, Axerra’s Founder, as President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Amir Hochbaum as Chief Operating Officer (COO), both changes effective immediately.

Gil Biran, Founder and previously COO of Axerra Networks, will now take on the dual role of President and CSO. Mr. Biran will be responsible for driving Axerra’s technology vision, product direction, marketing, and business development. Highly regarded as an early visionary for multiservice over packet, Mr. Biran has successfully guided Axerra to the forefront of Pseudo-Wire technology.

Amir Hochbaum, newly appointed COO, joins Axerra Networks with extensive management experience in the telecommunications sector, most recently as Senior Vice President, Research, Development and Operations of Vyyo Israel (Nasdaq: VYYO) where he also served as a member of Vyyo’s executive management team. Prior to Vyyo, Mr. Hochbaum held management positions at Avaya (formerly Lucent, Madge and Lannet) including Managing Director and Vice President of R&D. Before joining Avaya, Mr. Hochbaum had responsibility for engineering, product development, product management, and customer service for ServiceSoft in Jerusalem and Massachusetts.
