Axerra Networks Participates in the Light Reading Webinar "Deploying Business Services Using Pseudo-Wires" on June 28, 2006

"Deploying Business Services Using Pseudo-Wires"

As the leader in Pseudo-Wire circuit emulation and service emulation over packet access networks, Axerra is pleased to have been a major participant in Light Reading's webinar entitled "Deploying Business Services Using Pseudo-Wires.”
Today, Pseudo-Wire solutions are being deployed to support a wide range of services over next-generation and legacy networks. This Webinar explored the new market opportunities, looking at how Pseudo-Wire solutions are used for point-to-point and multipoint Ethernet services, virtual leased line services, and many others, for mobile wireless operators, cable MSOs, Ethernet service providers, and incumbent carriers.

Axerra Networks and Narad Networks Team Up to Deliver a Pseudo-Wire Solution for T1 over Cable Networks and T1 Solution for Wireless Backhaul over HFC

Axerra Networks and Narad Networks, Inc., a provider of high performance switched broadband access solutions, announced the availability of their combined Pseudo-Wire solution for delivering T1 voice and data services to business customers over the cable operator’s hybrid fiber coax (HFC) network. The combined solution offers operators a highly scalable solution for delivering business class T1 services in dense business nodes supporting up to 200 T1s per node and up to 500 T1s per node later this year.

Axerra and Narad also announced successful field testing of their T1 backhaul solution. This combined solution delivers an end-to-end latency of less than 8ms enabling Multiple System Operators (MSOs) to satisfy the most stringent differential delay requirements of mobile wireless backhaul. This new benchmark in HFC performance is achieved using the Axerra AXN Pseudo-Wire platforms and Narad’s switched Ethernet over Coax solution, avoiding the need for fixed wireless solutions or costly new fiber construction.
