Axerra Announces Full-Service Pseudo-Wire Solution for Mobile Wireless Providers

On June 7, 2005, Axerra announced the availability of a full-service backhaul alternative to TDM access for mobile wireless providers. The Axerra Pseudo-Wire solution enables backhaul for all generations of both voice and data traffic over a single packet-based radio access network. The solution empowers providers to utilize the capacity and flexibility of packet access networks, including Carrier Ethenet, cable HFC, and broadband wireless (WiMAX) in the mobile wireless Radio Access Network.

Axerra’s solution includes the industry’s only combination of ATM Pseudo-Wires, Circuit Emulation Pseudo-Wires, and Ethernet Pseudo-Wires in a single access device optimally sized for BTS and NodeB cell sites and in a single gateway optimally sized for BSC and RNC sites. Axerra Pseudo-Wires work seamlessly with 2G, 2.5G, and 3G traffic, enabling solutions for both GSM/UMTS and CDMA architectures.
